    • Object pooling/optimizations to support hundreds of frogs, snakes, weapons, and pickups at once.

    Strapped to a chair in a dark basement, a psychotic comedian is giving you a private stand-up routine. Force a chuckle, but also break free and escape!

    • For Global Game Jam 2024.

    • Uses voice detection to determine bits of laughter.

    You are a pipe, in love with Flappy Bird, trying to survive a crazy high school of hit mobile characters. Are you good enough to ask Flappy out?

    Play as a falling, flappy man, trying to hit as many things in the air long enough to avoid the ground. It is inevitable, but that won’t stop you!

    • Physics-based ragdoll-like character mdoel with animations (similar to gang beasts).

    2021 | Unity

    Inspired by PS1-era horror games, play as a girl trapped in an endless neighborhood, trying to discover it’s secrets and the ‘birthday party’ that your neighbors are telling you about. Fortunately, you have ethereal powers to phase through walls and to learn the true intentions of your neighbors.

    Notes:

    • 4-man team

    • Progammed neverending street, third-person/first-person modes.

    • Coordinated artists on PS1 aesthetic, applied shaders.

    • First Unity WebGL build

    As the last surviving pumpkin robot of a ship wreck, you’ve found yourself losing battery rapidly! Explore by making a frantic run towards each refuel station, searching for a replacement battery!

    48 Hour Game Maker’s Toolkit Jam

    2020 | Unity

    You’re a super fast driftin’ horse going through your shopping list. For some reason, humans are freaked out by you. Dash and drift towards your grocies before time runs out, or before the horse becomes too uncontrollable!

    Appease invisible judges American-Idol-style by wiggling your arms, wiggling your tail, and boo-ing till you get the highest score! Watch out, the controls will change during your performance.

    Save a family that is too dumb to feed themselves. Go through four minigames per ‘day’ to collect resources and help them for as long as possible!

Prototypes

  • Fruitigo Metro

    Personal Project

    2022-2024 | Unity, Unreal Engine

    Starting in 2022 as an Unreal Engine parkour prototype, Fruitigo Metro moved to Unity and became more fleshed out. It features 3D parkour movement through various scenes to reach the end in time. Also includes control enhancements like a "hand" grappling hook and many usable interactibles.

    Notes:

    3D Project (Different from my normal output)

    Ported controls/mechanics from Unreal to Unity.

    Utilizes Unity HDRP for enhanced visuals.

    Scrubyard (2014) remade in Unreal Engine 5.

    Mechanics on par with original, as well as some additions.

    An experiment into procedurally-generated levels, extraction, and reuse of the 2D codebase for Sole Iron Tail.

    Yarr! Enemy ships be trying to fire at ye! Don’t ye worry, yer cannons will take em out quick. Blast em, collect some coin, upgrade ye cannons, and become the master of the seven seas!

  • Super Mario Land X

    2014 | Super Mario Bros. X

    A full fan remake of Super Mario Land, done in the Super Mario Bros. X engine. Features re-designed stages (e.g. 4-1 going vertical), brand new X-4 stages, hidden bonus stages, and new bosses!

  • Scrubyard

    Student Project | Intro To Game Design

    2014 | Game Maker

    Parka Dude is tasked with eradicating all signs of snow from “the Scrubyard”, but a shovel wont be enough. Grab a flamethrower, use C4, blow up some cars, and avoid the giant snow crab in this action-puzzle game.

  • Tartarus

    Inspired by Half Life, you play the role of John Doe, trapped in an underground missile silo. Find your way out by traversing the moody hallways, grab a flare gun to access more of the silo, solve puzzles, and decide whether you really want to know what’s out there.
