Horatama is a tamagatchi-like horror game, with the core loop involving taking care of unique "creatures"  through specific tasks, dealing with more being added over time, and surviving "death minigames" when the pets are angry, in order to reach the end of time.

​This was developed with MIT students, initially for the Advanced Game Studio class, and finishing post-class for public release. The game was released on Steam in February 2021, with positive reception from reviews and blogs.

Roles:

Production, Programming

Contributions:

  • Managed team meetings and tasking, with a mix of organic and Kanban strategies.​

  • Programmed  general gameplay, death minigames, and quick level creation mainly utilizing Unity Scriptable Objects.

  • Designed scalable UI for multiple aspect ratios.

  • Mentored students on production principles and release timeline/needs.
